This discipline unit equips participants with the skills to comprehend the cost implications of a project and effectively track individual project areas. This field is also referred to as cost engineering.

The cost control unit is structured to give students greater knowledge and engagement with project costs and finances. Increased exposure to the financial aspects of projects enables participants to confidently address issues. This module, akin to estimation, aims to bridge disciplinary gaps. Participants will gain deeper insights into cost analysis, especially as they navigate the complexities of reconciling tendered costs with actual expenditures.

These contracts can either benefit or detrimentally affect one party or the other. We will delve into the core elements of contracts and their potential misinterpretations.

This discipline unit, along with the other three units—and I say this impartially—is likely the most demanding of all. This is primarily because a top Project Manager must possess an excellent knowledge of all modules.

This unit is tailored for professionals who comprehend the implications of all mentioned disciplines, including the Project Engineer. This role requires stamina, exceptional organisational and coordination & interpersonal skills, adept multitasking, and the ability to remain calm and focused. Crucially, it demands not just ‘an understanding’ but also a mastery of the intricacies of the four related disciplines.
